Adding Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a free and incredibly powerful tool from Google that allows you to track all aspects of your website. Although ContentActivator already provides you with powerful and easy to use analytics, Google Analytics provides you with even greater detail. ContentActivator has made it extremely easy for you to add your own Google Analytics profile to your site. The following steps will walk you through this process.

Step 1

Go to www.google.com/analytics and sign in with your Google Account.

Step 2

Once you're logged in, you'll see a list of sites you may already have access to. If you don't already have a Google Analytics profile for your new site, you'll need to create a new one. To add your new site, click the "Admin" button on the top right of the screen.

Step 3

The Admin screen contains a list of all accounts, properties within those accounts and profiles within those properties. If you don't already have an account for your company, you may want to first create one. Assuming you already have an account for your business, select that account from the lick the Accounts list.

Step 4

In the Property list, create a new site. You will be taken to a screen to enter the details of your website (i.e. Name, URL, industry, time zone, etc. Once all details are entered, click the blue "Get Tracking ID" button.

Step 5

Blux makes it very easy to add a tracking ID to your website. Simply copy the tracking ID that Google Analytics gives you (i.e. UA-67566170-4).

Step 6

Once you've copied your Google Analytics tracking ID, navigate to the Blux app and go to the Settings > Integrations section. You will see a field that allows you to enter Google Analytics ID.

Step 7

Go back to the ContentActivator application and go to  Settings > Integrations. In the "Google Analytics ID" section, enter the tracking ID provided to you by Google Analytics.
You also have the option of adding multiple Google Analytics ID's if you need to use multiple accounts. Simply add a space between multiple Google Analytics ID's.

STEP 8

Navigate to the Hub section of the Blux app. Publish your website by clicking on the Publish Site button within the left navigation. Once your site completes publishing, your Google Analytics is now connected. You should immediately be able to track your site activity using Google Analytics real-time tracking. Historical data may take 24-48 hours to display within Google Analytics.
